Harvey
The last few years have seen a considerable amount of growth for Harvey, making it more important than ever that we build not just a product our customers can trust, but also a company and culture our employees believe in. At a lot of companies, values are posters that hang on a wall but are not infused into how the organization operates. We want Harvey’s values to be a commitment to our customers, a testament to our ambition, and a leading indicator to our candidates and employees on the culture we aim to build. Below are the three values that are foundational to our culture and team.
Decisiveness
We are operating on the bleeding edge of the most transformative technology in human history. We do not have cycles to waste on overcomplicating simple questions or analyzing a future state that will change in a few weeks or months. We value deliberate action over ivory tower intellectualization. Internally, we refer to it as “taking the square root of the weather.” When you’re moving as fast as we need to, we need to be able to check the weather, move forward, and avoid wasting time overanalyzing items that are not mission-critical.
Simplicity
The technology that powers our product is complex, as are the challenges our clients face every day. But our solutions can’t be. We believe complexity appreciates and simplicity scales, so we value leaders and individuals who identify clear first principles and apply them to our daily decisions, big and small. We strive for simple communication, products, and services.
Job’s Not Finished (JNF)
As a company, we recognize that there is always more we can do to solve our clients’ biggest challenges and to make our products and services as powerful as possible. As individuals, our team is comprised of people who want to be the best at what they do and are never satisfied with the status quo. We recognize that no one owes us anything—we have to earn the opportunities ahead of us.
